Mother’s Day

May 12, 2008

Hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day!  Mine was pretty nice actually.  Rick and the kids gave me a nice big batch of Mrs. Fields cookies (24!). lol!  One of those large tins… YUM!  Just in time to wear on my in ass for Surtex!  But that definitely won’t be stopping me from inhaling them.  lol!  We also got a nice surprise from Rick’s mom and she treated us to dinner.  That was very unexpected and extremely nice of her.  I spent a good portion of the day working on an old laptop for Rick. It had been quite some time since the last windows update so there were only um… 43 updates to install.  lolol!  Overall it was a very nice mom’s day for me.  Hope you all had one too.

Rescue Time

May 10, 2008

I just saw this come from another list… don’t remember where… but I thought it would be worth a try to track. http://www.rescuetime.com It’s supposed to time all your applications and which websites you spend time on.  I put up a widget on the side here – not sure if I’m going to be keeping that one up.  LOL!  Depends on how productive I am.  But I thought it was a neat idea.  Jeanine and I also use Toggl.com to track our project time.  It’s a nice little web based time tracker that allows us to put our project time together.  Keeps a running timer, etc…. the only problem is you have to remember to change tasks.  lol! I have a feeling that I will not be talking Jeanine into installing rescuetime though… too much time spent on DarkUFO.  😉 Worked on my blog today and a lot of facebook updating.. it’s been so long since I’ve done anything on facebook… about time.

Not feeling so well today…

May 9, 2008

Woke up at 5am and did not feel very well at all… this is not a good weekend to be sick as it’s my last weekend before I leave for New York.  So it’s my weekend to try and get a lot of Surtex things finished.  I’m feeling a little better now than I did really early this morning.  Head still hurts a lot though… I made a list of things we need to do before Surtex still.  Not planning on a lot of changes from the way we had our booth for CHA.  But still need to add some new collections to the portfolio.  I would really like to update the KV website and put in a true portfolio.  That’s been on the list of things to do for some time now.  That one item is just so overwhelming to me so it doesn’t get done.  I probably should do it in smaller chunks and not think about everything that I’d like to do with the site. Jeanine had some awful dental work done yesterday.  I am not envying her at all.  Hope you feel better soon Jeanine!!

Twittering…

May 8, 2008

Well… Jeanine has got me twittering… I guess I’m the last person out there to try it. lol! I always see these things as a waste of time… a way to procrastinate more than I already do. But on the flip side it’s a good way to network and keep in touch and I am usually so bad at those things. What’s ironic is the average person has no idea that I can ramble more than most people once I get comfortable with you. Typically I do not talk much – I find small talk incredibly awkward and nerve wracking… on the surface I am incredibly shy – most times painfully shy. But get close to me… watch out…lolol! I think Jeanine found that to be the biggest surprise of all… I can really ramble and babble… Mondays is the “Ramble and Babble” day and Fridays is the “Rant and bitch” day – funny how most weeks this formula turns out to be true. Anyway if you’d like to look me up on twitter  –> http://www.twitter.com/jenreed/

So much to do…

March 31, 2008

I am having one of those months where there is so much to do that you can’t even concentrate on getting anything done. The first thing that we finally knocked off was Kristy Valshan taxes… took forever it seemed… then this weekend I got my personal taxes filed. This was the latest I have filed taxes in years!!! Usually I have my refund by now… sigh… At least I was able to clean my rugs this afternoon…my dining room needed a rug cleaning so bad… the last big rug incident was the Parmesan incident from a few weeks ago.  I need to get motivated…
