Welcoming 2012

January 8, 2012

I’ve been thinking about what my word for 2012 will be.  In order to figure out where I want to go this year, I stopped and took a look back at the last two years to see where I’ve been. 2010 2010 was the year I came to terms with my failed business partnership and dealt with the emotional aftermath of that “divorce”. It was a year of healing. I had lost my way. I had lost my drive. I was depressed. I had completely lost myself. Who the hell was this person? It certainly wasn’t me. I had been hurt so deeply and my recovery process was painfully slow. It was a year of reflection. How had I gotten to this point? What part did I play in all of it? Could I have prevented it? Why did it happen in the first place? Could I have chosen better path for myself? It was a year of decision making. What did I really want to do? What would make me happy? It was a year of rebuilding. Where did I want to go from here? How was I going to get there? It was a year of rediscovery. Where was the … Read more

Halloween Celebration

November 1, 2010

It has been one crazy weekend for us!  It hit me hard this year that Halloween is really the “holiday” we celebrate most in this house.  All during the month of October leading up to Halloween, we watch scary movies on the weekend.  Fear Fest on AMC actually had some good ones this year.  A lot of years finding horror movies is tough. We’ve always thought this was odd especially during October. We usually go all out with the costumes hard too… Halloween is a budgeted expenditure because it can get expensive.  LOL!  The only thing that I don’t do really well is decorate the house.  Although in general I’m not a very good decorator – even for Christmas.  But with Christmas I always have the plan… decorations and the tree go up the day after Thanksgiving and come down the day after Christmas.  But after this weekend, I realized that for our family, Halloween really is THE holiday in this house.  So I think this year, I’ll scrounge the after Halloween sales and see if I can pick up some decent decorations at decent prices for next year.  🙂 Our weekend started off on Friday.  Rick was home and Dan didn’t … Read more

Just another Wed….

August 25, 2010

It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged over here at LC.  I had been blogging my running workouts regularly and even my weekly goals…but that seems to have fallen by the wayside.  Not that I don’t still workout or have a weekly goals.  Just that I haven’t been motivated to blog them. I was using my blog to get into the routine of having them every week and then got busy doing them. 🙂 Kids went back to school on Monday.  YAY!!  Not that I don’t enjoy having my kids around for the summer. I do.  But… by the end of August they are wound up and the fighting was escalating.  The girls don’t fight with each other as much as they fight with Dan. Dan is becoming that “little brother pest” that young girls HATE.  lol!  I am not complaining too much though because the girls REALLY look out for Dan.  More so then most kids that age look out for a sibling. First Day – Jess, Dan, Sam Dan started Kindergarten this year. It seems like yesterday when the girls were starting Kindergarten… If you haven’t checked out DSO in awhile there’s some great BABY Kits up. And I’m giving this new … Read more

Weekly Goals: Week of 7/11/10

July 11, 2010

Here is this week’s goals… I didn’t post any goals last week because it was a real short week for me.  I did actually finish up a redo of an old kit last week which had been on the big todo list for a few weeks.  That was good. 🙂 We still have swimming in the morning but the other camps are finished so no driving around like a crazy person.  lol!  Maybe I’ll get some designing in this week. Business Goals Advertise new kit including sending out a newsletter. Create a mini freebie for my Facebook fanpage. 🙂 Start working on August collabs for DSO and SD. Personal Goals Stay on track with my cool running – M-W-Th Create one layout this week for a challenge.  I did a layout this morning for Caryn’s template challenge at DSO and it felt good. 🙂 Read for 30 minutes outside every day. KEEP MAIN GOAL IN MIND THIS WEEK : Design.  Just design. … find a rhythm and design. This week’s quote… People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up … Read more

Weekly Goals: Week of 6/27/10

June 28, 2010

Here is this week’s goals…  ( my recap of last week’s goals is here for those of you playing along.) Well since I got soooo many of my goals last week done… I think I’m not going to be so ambitious this week.  sigh… This week will probably be tough because the girls have camps in the morning and the afternoon so lots of driving around.  That always zaps my concentration.  Hard to get into designing only to have to get up and drive somewhere. Business Goals Pick Ad for the July DSO challenge. Design the DSO challenge freebie to give away. Design freebie for Bunny’s live interview on July 2.  I may cheat with this one and give away papers I already have done… but… if I do that, I’ll try to design some coordinating elements to go with it. Personal Goals Stay on track with my cool running – M-W-Th Clean something every day for 30 minutes. Read for 30 minutes outside every day.  (already got my reading for today in!) Extra goal – start building a regular routine.  A lot of my goals are actually repeat goals – like the fitness and cleaning… so ultimately I’m looking at creating … Read more
