It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged over here at LC.  I had been blogging my running workouts regularly and even my weekly goals…but that seems to have fallen by the wayside.  Not that I don’t still workout or have a weekly goals.  Just that I haven’t been motivated to blog them. I was using my blog to get into the routine of having them every week and then got busy doing them.

Kids went back to school on Monday.  YAY!!  Not that I don’t enjoy having my kids around for the summer. I do.  But… by the end of August they are wound up and the fighting was escalating.  The girls don’t fight with each other as much as they fight with Dan. Dan is becoming that “little brother pest” that young girls HATE.  lol!  I am not complaining too much though because the girls REALLY look out for Dan.  More so then most kids that age look out for a sibling.

It seems like yesterday when the girls were starting Kindergarten…

I decided a few weeks ago that I wanted to separate my “design” and my “personal” blogging.  My personal blog is very boring and lately all I’ve been using it for is to keep track of my running and my goal lists.   Maybe I post some photos every so often or rambling thoughts… but what fun is that? lol!

I’ve been chatting with Dr. Cates over the past couple of weeks.  It’s actually been therapetic for me and has helped get me designing again and {gasp}.. not just ToDo listing but actual goal setting! Who knew she could be all that and a bag of chips?!?

So when Bunny posted that DSO was having a designer call… I thought “why the hell not apply? I don’t have anything better to do.”… LOL!

Seriously I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to take another step back in the digiscrap community.  Hang with a different (and I mean different in a good kinda of way…I think) digi crowd.  Trying to get my name back out there…

DSO is in the midst of a redesign (thank God I don’t have to do that admin… woo hoo!) and will be “relaunching” on July 1st.  I’ll run an official sale then… maybe I’ll actually have some more product up to be able to put on sale.  lol!

*Sales Plug* – I do have the Fresh Start collection up at DSO and on sale for $3.99 this week though… so if you wanted to grab that at a low price…

Anyway… Bunny gave me a warm welcome on the DSO blog … although I seriously think she might have been popping something – definitely drinking – when she wrote the post… lol!

Every once in a while, I get fantastic surprises in my mail box. When I posted a designer call over on facebook, I about fell outta my chair when Jen replied.  Jen, my friends, is amazing.  Not just amazing as in a good designer, but amazing as in good PERSON.  I have admired her, her work ethics, and her work since I began designing and I am so pleased she wanted to sell at DSO when she got back into the digi-biz.

Well I’m already behind on the creativity bootcamp.. .LOL!  This was supposed to be yesterday’s freebie from Day 1.  I haven’t even looked at the assignment for Day 2.  Yikes!

DAY 1 : IVORY

The assignment was to be inspired by the word “IVORY”.

The very first thought that popped into my head was “PURE” and from there it became “PURE LOVE”.   My original plan was to create a few papers and do a quick page with them.  Well… I got a bit behind… so my few papers became ONE paper and a few elements.  LOL!  I really like how my background paper turned out on this.

Not sure what made me e-mail Rachel and Correen last week…. but I did and asked if they’d have me back at ScrapDish.  The industry must really be hurting because they let me come back.  lol!

It’s been a very long time since I just designed… designed with no expectations, no pre-selected color palette, no deadlines, no requirements, no store and/or business admin duties in the background and no pressure but my own.  My colors, my style, my speed… it was very therapeutic for me this week and I actually enjoyed it.

But boy do I hate naming collections and have never been very good at it – probably because I have always designed first and then figured out the name later – instead of designing towards something.  After thinking about a name for awhile, I ended up with FRESH START.  Dumb, I know… but it was what was in my head during this process so it stayed…

I’m also not sure why I stuck with this color palette… it wasn’t even one of my top 5… I do like the color combination though…it stands out to me. It just isn’t typical for me – no blue. lol!  The element I like the best is how the numbers came out.  I also like the two-color bows – scanned and extract by me. 

Anyway.. if you are interested (my one or two readers), I’m putting it up for sale this week for $3.99. I even did a layout with it… haven’t scrapped in ages either… about time.
